I Never Use the “B” Word

You heard me… I’m not a potty mouth. You’ll never catch me saying “I’m BORED”.

No, I’ll actually throw out some profanities, usually on a bad lifting day, but nothing wild.

What’s up my Homigos! It’s been some time since I’ve chatted with you guys through the newsletter, so here’s a little bit of what’s been going on!

Things are definitely feeling different these days, not bad, just different. One thing is for certain, WE ARE NOT BORED over here. The squad is still training hard, we are still letting this crazy mind run a create weird videos, and there is never a dull moment when it comes to taking care of our BIG, crazy BOLT fam here at CrossFit BOLT.

I love it all!

Here’s is the difficult part of things these days that I am trying to figure out. I’ve always been a person that dives 100% into the things I do. Gymnastics, CrossFit, Coaching, and Content Creating has all been done with 100% effort. If I do something I want it to have meaning/purpose and be able to bring something good into the world. I think this is where I’ve become a very disciplined person. But, as many people say, sometimes you greatest strengths can be your biggest limiting factors.

If you follow Competitive CrossFit, you would know that the 2024 Season had a tragic ending, with one of our beloved athletes and huge personalities of the sport, Lazar Dukic, passing away during event 1 at the Games. The Community has felt heavy since then, to be expected when you lose a family member. Time is slowly healing and it has been great to see many athletes back out on the competition floor during some “off-season” events.

For me personally, I don’t know what’s next on the agenda. I usually know exactly what I am getting ready for, have a timeline written out, and have that next checkpoint in mind. Right now I don’t, which is SUPER uncomfortable. Don’t worry, don’t worry, I will still be competing for as long as my brain and body allow me, but with the season not being laid out just yet, it’s kinda hard to pin point where exactly we need to be at this time.

Long story short, I think it’s a good time to work on a weakness and by “weakness” I mean VENTURE, work hard, but not be so rigid, and most importantly DON’T WAIT!

To be more specific in my sense, we aren’t using the excuse “Becca has to train” anymore. I train because I “want” to… not because I “have” to. I’ve always been good at putting my nose to the grindstone. Now, we are going to use that, but let it fly to whatever the next journey is. I’M NOT WAITING AROUND… I’LL GET BORED (which is a bad word).

I share in hopes of helping anyone else that might feel the same.

Life is too short! DON’T WAIT! Go do the things you love and do things that excited you!

“The No Regrets Podcast”

Listen on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts!

We went hard on this question, "What is the biggest mistake beginners make?" when starting fitness. Matt and I had similar, but slightly different takes, which then lead us into more life talk... so, overall, another pretty normal "not normal" podcast episode!
