CrossFit Games Week!

I wanted to share with you all how I feel about the CrossFit Games going on this week and be completely transparent. Now, if you keep up with our No Regrets Podcast you would have seen a little salty and frustrated Becca after Matt sprung the conversation on me. I don’t hold anything back from you guys, I’m not afraid to show someone if I’m happy, sad, frustrated, excited, or angry. We’re all human and have feel all of that.

When you fall short of your goal, it sucks. There’s a lot of emotion that you start having to tame, deciding what you need to hang on to and what you need to discard. As, much as the task of dealing with the extra emotions of disappointment are, I like to have them. They let me know that my heart still cares about this dream and that I have more fuel to put on this flame.

Watching the Games is super exciting, especially having competed for the first time last year because your really do have another level of appreciation for how poised and composed those athletes look before taking on such grueling events. I was there. I know that you feel like you’re to going to pee yourself, possibly throw up, and feel absolutely. like a jitterbug before running out on the field. This year is visual reps for me. I’m looking at the screen imagining how we would attack each of these event, talking to myself they way I would before taking the floor. I do believe that is another way we can make the most of this season and be ready to rock in 2024!

I have to admit, I’m a little jealous of some of these events. They look fun and gnarly! Especially that “Alpaca” event! Man, I was so bummed when they took out those legless rope climbs last year, but am very excited to see how the full event plays out into the “Redux”.

Even when you have been to the games, watching the athletes push limits is so inspiring! It fires me up to keep at this thing! I want to be one of the best on Planet Earth…plain and simple. Why?

I see no reason why I couldn’t be one of the best in the world. Human beings are amazing and I truly believe that we are capable of so many incredible things that lie just on the other side of the wall of Believing in Ourselves!

In this series we will be going over so much technique to help you all either learn this Olympic lift or improve the lift. I will also be including some extra mobility and stretches because when it comes to improving our olympic lifts, improving our mobility!

  • thoughts on the inverted medley event (particularly the pullovers)? tbh it seems like almost too much "new" stuff that is potentially super dangerous if you've never done it before (like the 180 dismount, and then kicking up onto the obstacle for the 360 on the way back)

  • How can a person who drives trucks experience crossfit? Don't have access to a box. If I go to a box, it may be twice to maybe three times a month. I'm very fascinated with CrossFit. Been reading the journals. I'm overweight with type 2 diabetes with joint injuries (double quadriceps tendons rupture repair) and a disabled veteran. Thanks.
