GIVEAWAY TIME!!!!
Since we are well into the Holiday Season now, I figured it was a good time to give away a fun lil gift. Polar was kind enough to send us a few Polar Verity Sense bands! You may have seen me training with that sweet looking band around my arm…looks cool..now smells not so cool.
I am NOT SPONSORED by polar, but they have been kind enough to let me experiment with some of their products including the Verity Sense and the Ignite 3 Watch. I use these products mostly when I do my heart rate training, like Zone 2 work. They have been fun tools to use for sure. So, if you are looking for a great gist for your fitness friend be sure to check out Polar…
But another way you can get your hands on one of these bad boys is by tuning into this week’s podcast episode! We will be giving away 3 and give you the deets on the episode! See you there!

TRAINING SUCKS!
A couple weeks ago we got to chat with some of our friends out in Brownsville, TX over Zoom for their podcast, “The School of Hard Knox”. Hard Knox Strength and Performance is where we drop into when we make our annual trip to South Padre for the SPIsland Games, a competition on South Padre island hosted by my apparel sponsor, CAMBRO. The Hard Knox Strength and Performance facility is absolutely amazing! It is a very spacious building with multiple rooms and plenty of equipment to help anyone achieve their health, fitness, and sports goals, but most importantly we’ve met some of the kindest people there that love what they do! So, if you are ever in South Texas, be sure to put this spot on your “places to go” list.
Anyways, when we chatting on the podcast, Coach Rod and Coach Max (the hosts), asked me “Is training your weakness fun?” When answering this question I kind of laughed because we are always talking about how we need to do what we love and keep it fun. I believe that is the only way you can be successful at what you do, is 1.) it’s got to be something YOU WANT to do, and also something that is truly enjoyable. BUT… is training you weakness fun?… ABSOLUTELY NOT. Doing what you are bad at over and over and over is not fun.
What is fun is seeing progress, THE REWARD for going through the hardship. That is why we workout, that is why we train. We put ourselves into uncomfortable situations to build strength and resilience and knowing that you are more durable, you are able to handle MORE, lift MORE, DO MORE, is the fun part!
So we start associating the nastiness of training your weakness with the reward!
So, is training your weakness fun?… YES!
(it sucks, but it is, in the end, fun!)
